HAVE YOU HEARD

With only shorts,tops and slippers eight men risked everything to get to the top of a mountain(over 300 feets high with 7 different levels and a village ahead). With a burning passion we walked,crawled and ran over rocky grounds and lonely paths.
We split into two groups and soon after hope was almost lost, yet we persevered.
With our feet weak and our backs tired,fear crept slowly into our hearts as we had no idea where we were or the location of the other group,but we encouraged ourselves saying; we have gotten this far and we are never going back.Straight and forward we pressed on.
Finally we got to the top,with excitement we shouted and everyone in the groups gave handshake and hugged,afterwards we daubed the wall of an old building with our names and ran to the stream to see the origin of the great waterfall down below. Victory was finally ours as we were told we walked into a village in a new State ‘Ekiti state from Osun’.
This short story was an event that took place on my departmental excursion to a waterfall. And here is a poem I composed afterwards. Like it,comment on it and share it. Ciao.

HAVE YOU HEARD

Have you heard of the tale of 8 men
who would never turn back
in the face of danger
or obstacles.

Have you heard of the quest of 8 men
who would cross hills and valleys
without the slightest
idea of a destination.

Have you heard of the story of 8 men
who used only instinct as did ancient men
to find their way through the mountain
to get to that village ahead.

Have you heard of the short novel of 8 men
of different height and body mass
with but one goal
and no means of communication in an I.T. age.

Have you heard of the poem of 8 men
of different understanding
but with one dream
to make it to the top of the mountain.

Have you heard of the tale of 8 men of valor.
